Freshology expresses its culinary creativity through online video

Challenge

FreshologyFreshology is a meal delivery service that has made a name for itself delivering fresh, nutritious, portion-controlled meals to clients' doorsteps nationwide.

Key to Freshology's marketing strategy is conveying the quality of its food and the creativity of its menus to prospective customers — not an easy task with static text. "We’re always thinking of new ways to communicate with our customers. Text isn't the best method for demonstrating the freshness of our vegetables or the care that's put into our menus and preparation," explained Todd DeMann, founder and CEO of Freshology.

Solution

DeMann and Freshology worked with TurnHere to help tell their story via several online videos.

"The production process with TurnHere is always smooth and straightforward. For each video, we think of the story we want to get across beforehand and then draft a set of questions to be addressed in the video," explained DeMann. "We like working without scripts, as it keeps the process and final product organic and natural. Each video shoot never takes longer than an hour and a half, and we're always pleased with the results."

DeMann added, "Our TurnHere filmmaker has been great. We really like him, and that certainly helps the process. He has a good eye and always knows how to get the best out of whomever is in front of the camera."

Result

Freshology currently has six videos on their website, one for each of their meal programs.

DeMann expects online video to be an ongoing and integral part of the Freshology marketing mix going forward. Videos are featured on Freshology's home page and the individual pages for each meal program. The company also makes sure a video is included on specific landing pages to instantly capture the attention of casual browsers and people searching for gourmet or organic meal delivery. For DeMann, video production won't end with these videos. He envisions continually updating the images and messages — keeping the content fresh and targeting seasonal offerings.
